IoT in Health Care
Real-time Electrocardiogram Monitoring and Analysis
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States 30.3 million adults were diagnosed with heart disease in 2018. While in 2015, nearly 633,842 people died because of heart disease that made it the number 1 leading cause of death in the U.S in that year.
Project Objectives
The provision of remote patient monitoring has changed the traditional healthcare abilities to monitor and manage patients. Accordingly, our solution presents a comprehensive IoT platform for electrocardiogram monitoring. The platform encompasses multiple components, divided into two parts.
Hardware
A wearable body sensor responsible for the data acquisition represented in the proposed smart patch for ECG monitoring.
Software
A software platform is implemented at the backend where the main logic and processing of the system is implemented.
